Our whole Greek community is only around 150+ members and 7 organizations. Any good info would help,

So mens groups were involved in the voting at UW Stevens Point? That does not sit well with me or any NPC woman. Only the women's groups should be voting on extension.

Really? And why is that? There are schools that have begun doing this and other, bigger, schools that are looking into something like this.
When a new organization comes on campus it affects the entire Greek community, not just the local IFC or PC.
Sometimes the local Panhellenic is unfair and votes for an NPC that is weaker nationally and may not do as well on their campus in order to limit competition, and that's not very "Panhellenic" is it?

And since when did you become a member of Panhellenic to know what goes on in Expansion Voting?

No. But, to speak with any certainty or authority on the subject you SHOULD be. Otherwise, let's be honest, it's just whatever someone told you.
As someone who HAS been involved in the process, I think it is completely outlandish that guys would be involved in the process of selecting what group will join the PANHELLENIC council.
Ladies fundamentally DO NOT want to vote a weaker group onto campus. You need to think more like a girl. Girls WANT their school's Greek Life to ALWAYS have more clout. They want to improve their rep. You bring a weak group onto campus and it says something about the strength of ALL the groups on campus. As if, in some way you weren't good enough to bring a strong group on campus.
Girls don't bring the ugly girl out partying with them to get more guys for themselves. Why? Because their "power quotient of hotness" goes down -- PERIOD. they look more attractive if everyone in their group is hot. BUT, ugly girls ALWAYS want to out to party with their hotter friends. Seriously. Why? Because they want their "power quotient of hotness" to go UP. They know they at least have a SHOT of being noticed because they have a hot friend.
So, sometimes, you bring along your looks-challenged, socially awkward friends along just to be nice. But, you NEVER choose it unless you HAVE to.
Point being, girls want strong groups to join their PC. If they choose weaker groups, they're only shooting themselves in the foot and making themselves look bad.
CONGRATS TO SWTXBELLE. You have arrived.

This makes no sense. If Panhellenic doesn't want competition, they don't have to vote for expansion. And no NPC group is going to go on a campus where the majority of NPC groups do NOT want expansion. I feel pretty secure in saying that - it is WAY too much time and money to establish a chapter if you don't have at least the nominal support of other NPCs.
And wear the Earpus banner with pride. Do you like gooey buns?

I think it's rather hilarious that a guy who just joined his fraternity is questioning a someone who's served her sorority at the national leadership level. Denise, weren't you Director of Extension? I swear I remember seeing that in your signature at one point.

Yes, I was Director of Extension for 12 years and took last year off. I am back on team and was Lead on our Temple presentation on October 2nd. We were invited to colonize.
I see we have somehow hijacked red's TX Tech thread but so be it....
UW Stevens Point does not have a Panhellenic - they have 1 NPC group DPhiE which is about 20-25 members tops.
While the fraternity man Langox510x has been posting in ZTA and Theta Phi Alpha's GC forums, the National Panhellenic Conference Extension Director has been advised of this potential situation on this campus about a month ago and has notified university that the IGC is not the proper authority to decide to bring on another group. Theta Phi Alpha had inquired about school and after a call with myself and our ED and NPC, they withdrew their interest.
As for TKEguy, I will let him slide - he is just not knowledgeable about this and several of you have already set that record straight.
If fraternity men could deal with their own issues, it would be appreciated. NPC groups do things very differently.

I will, just how I know you and OTW wear the "Moronic Bitch" banner with pride.
ETA: Just joined? Lol yeah, okay, because being a member of your organization for a year+ is "just joined."

Oh, yes, I am definitely the one who looks like a moron here. (good grammar, btw)
A whole year PLUS!!! Wow!!! What were we thinking - you OBVIOUSLY know your Green Book backwards and forwards!!!
And OTW - I've never been called a bitch on GC before! I've arrived! (But apparently there is only one banner, so we will have to share it.)
eta - He couldn't even get three letters - OTW - in the correct order.

Congrats!!! Welcome to the club!
ETA: woh. When you quoted him it shows that he wrote "TOW" but in his post & when OTW quoted him, it shows that he actually did write "OTW." Weird
