And I'm with nittany... I can't wait for 2012 and see Crist and Jindal, Barbour and Romney wipe the floor with she-who-will-not-be-named.
Er, ixnay on Charlie Crist and Romney.

Charlie will NOT be a contender. Romney won't either because he is a Mormon and that was already apparently too much for some ultra evangelicals and now with Prop 8 hanging on the Mormon Church in Cali, they won't forgive OR forget, so he's between the proverbial rock and hard place.

I am becoming more and more of a Jindal fan everyday.

But whether or not Gov. Palin sticks, no one will wipe the floor with her. I find it so amusing and amazing that she engenders so much vitriol from the left.
She who will not be named is apparently also she who must be destroyed. Why is that? Is it because she is also one who must not frighten the left anymore?

Just asking. She's not my number one, but it is an interesting phenomenon.

She gets some vitrol from the right too - I'm no Democrat, but I would be beyond upset if she ended up as the presumptive nominee for 2012. There are a large number of us Conservatives out there who hope she fades into the background by that point.

And (admittedly as a Romney supporter) if people are going to withhold votes on Romney because he's a Mormon, my party is in more trouble than I thought.

I voted for Mitt in the Florida primary, but let's both face it. OUR party is in trouble. The evangelicals have too much influence. I'm a hard core fiscal conservative and a social moderate and I feel lost in the crowd.

Why do you think Charlie Crist isn't a contender? I know that a lot of Floridians are not happy with his performance as governor, but it seems like outside of the state, people really like him.

I think Mitt Romney won't make a lot of moderates or liberals happy, because of the Mormon thing. It's just too weird for a lot of people.

I've always really liked Bobby Jindal--my college alumni association here in NYC is honoring him in the Spring, and apparently, he's really excited about the award. Always cooperative. Plus, he's what Louisiana really needed after decades of corrupt administration.

Charlie is, shall we say, a bit shallow.

Jindal has some star power. And some core principles.
