I took it more as a historical documentation of facts about racism and not that it was racist.

Yeah and the individual humanity of different Presidents and First Ladies, for better and worse.

It is interesting and often heartwarming to see these stories that put racial progress in an individual context. We see way too much of the "everything sucks today" kind of stories. It may, but we might be coming along in certain areas.

Well put! I think the Behind The Scenes views of various places, such as the White House, are just as interesting, if not more so, as the Official side.

I like the story but the ending was sad. Still, I'm glad I read it. Thanks for posting it.
