Wrong. Erie splits down the middle between Pittsburgh and Cleveland, with maybe a little bit of sway to the Bills and other out-of-state teams. That goes for both Football and Baseball (ever see Browns and Steelers fans living next door to each other? Not pretty). They don't fight about hockey because they have their own OHL team (which is pretty good), Cleveland doesn't have an NHL team (so the Pens win by default), and hockey isn't that big a sport in Erie anyway.

With three NFL football teams and two Major League baseball teams within two hours, who gives a crap about Philly, which is seven hours away?

Did anyone see the Steelers/Ravens game? Who was cheering as Willis McGahee was being carted off the field? I guess those people were all from Erie.
