There was this one place in Boston on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives and I looked for it on the website but could not find it. All I remember is that they gave you a HUGE hamburger with fries and if you finished it all, they named it after you? I was wondering because we are making a trip up to Boston soon and I thought it would be cool to stop by.
The place to which you refer is called Eagle's Deli, and it's on the Brookline/Brighton line, near Boston College. I used to live right down the street (only a couple of buildings away), and it's a place I visited all the time.

Here's the website: http://www.eaglesdeli.com/

I always got the Godzilla - it's a 1 pound burger with 4 slices of cheese, and a pound of fries. The burgers go up quite a bit from there, but I never tried any of the bigger ones. It's not just that the portions are big - the food is really good as well.

They also have a killer breakfast menu and make a really good chicken salad sandwich. But, as you noted, the burgers are the big draw.

Again...I REALLY miss living in Brookline.

Kind of a funny story - when I was released from the hospital after my heart procedure (not related to cholesterol or anything like that, mind you, it was an arrythmia issue), I was ready for anything other than hospital food. I obviously couldn't go anywhere out to eat in my condition, so when we got back to our apartment, my father-in-law made a run out to Eagle's and got food for myself, my wife, my parents, and my in-laws. I think they all became Eagle's fans that day.

ETA: One minor point - even if you finish the biggest of the burgers, chances are they won't name it after you. The standing deal is that if you order the biggest burger on the menu (which I believe is 5 pounds, with 20 slices of bacon and 20 slices of cheese, and 5 pounds of fries on the side), and finish it in an hour, you get it for free (otherwise it costs around $50).

I can feel my arteries hardening just from reading this.

Yeah - one of my doctors joked that a cardiologist could set up a lucrative practice just by opening an office next to Eagle's.

There is NOTHING healthy on the menu, so anyone with dietary restrictions would be best served by eating elsewhere.

I almost wrote that same thing. But, instead, I went to Eagle's Deli website. (Not that I doubted KSigkid!)

Now, what I want to know is, what's the #1 place to pig out if a place that serves the Challenge Burger is #2? I can't imagine something worse than 5 pounds of beef, 20 strips of bacon, 20 slices of cheese, and 5 pounds of fries!

I'm not sure of the #1 place, but you could probably find it somewhere on the Discovery Channel's website.

The thing that struck me about Eagle's, which I mentioned in my previous post, is that the food is really, really good. It's not just that they give you big portions; it actually tastes great as well.

One of the things I love about Boston is it has about a million places to eat where you can get good food, for any budget. Eagle's fits right into that, where you can spend less than $10 and get good food.
