I was thinking Sam can't be the dog, because he's been with the dog before. I was thinking he was maybe a werewolf/shapeshifter?

I thought he was the dog because when Sookie went out to rescue Bill from the Rattrays he asked Tara to watch the bar and went out, but you never saw him, just the dog. However there was a night he was petting the dog outside his trailer, so it could be an unknown character at this point. The dog seems to watch out for Sookie, and Sam claims to be from elsewhere and have no family, so who knows.
My favorite character by far is Lafayette.

My husband also thinks Lafayette is funny. We saw a guy at BevMo the other day that sounded just like him. It was kinda funny.

I'm catching up on this show through On Demand. I'm watching episode 7 now. I also thought Sam was the dog because he made a comment about something he shouldn't have known unless he heard Sookie and Bill talking once. Fangtasia was a bit much to take. I'm definitely uncomfortable with parts of this show but fascinated with other parts at the same time.

Ah ha! I was right! Shapeshifter...who took the form of the dog. So I was right and wrong.

We were both right, he said he needed the dog to use as a model, which explains him petting it and being it. My kind of not, but kind of, boyfriend is coming over to watch it tonight, so we'll see what was in last night's episode. He's helping me catalog my artifacts and do data entry, sucker!
