It is surprising to see the issues surrounding the Auburn incident has sparked that much interest in combating racism among Greeks especially at a southern college. Usually when southerners talk about racial issues we tend to brush them under the rug and pretend everything's O.K. Just as D.L. Hughley stated, white people will tell you, "I'm not racist, i've had three black people over my house." If they know how many black people have been at their house, then they're racist as a mudda. It's about time whites as well as blacks admit to their racist ideas and beliefs and through meetings such as your fraternity sponsors people can begin to understand each other and resolve an entity that has plagued our society for far too long. No, racism will not end in this lifetime, but in order to live with each other and with respect for one another, forums such as these are needed.
