Spooky recruitment story
I went through recruitment earlier this year and I am stoked to share my story! There are seven sororitiess at my school, which I, in the halloween spirit, I am naming after classic Halloween costumes:
Witch
Ghost
Zombie
Black Cat
Mummy
Skeleton
Pumpkin
I told you it would be spooky. 
Night 1:
Witch- My heart was racing before I walked into the first house of the day, Witch. These girls were known as super smart and involved around campus, just like I wanted to be. I didn't know which house I wanted to go to yet, obviously, but I was really hoping that this house would like me. The door opened to dozens of screaming girls. I was super nervous until I was grabbed by the most gorgeous girl I have ever seen. We had a great conversation, but I couldn't tell if she liked me or if she was just good at rush. I talked to a couple of other girls, and they were all equally gorgeous and super enthusiastic.
Ghost- Rumors I had heard about ghost weren't as positive as those I had heard about Witch. But I was willing to look past them and give ghost a shot. When I went into ghost, I was again grabbed by a sister. She was very friendly, but I didn't feel a connection with her at all. I was not bumped, which was disappointing because I wanted to see how I felt talking to other girls in the house.
Zombie- I had heard that zombies were super cute and sweet (ironically, ha). And they were! I talked to three zombies, and they all seemed really sweet and down to earth.
Black Cat- I didn't know ANYTHING about black cat before rush, except that they were a larger house that had won an award for being the friendliest Greek organization on campus. The girl I was paired with for most of the party seemed really nervous. She kept saying the same things over and over again and I felt bad. I talked to another girl for a few minutes and had a slightly better connection. I really wanted to get to know this org better.
Mummy- Mummy was a non-NPC sorority, relatively new on campus. The girls I spoke with were kind, but I felt I didn't have anything in common with them. Also, they were not participating in all of rush. This was the only night until NPC rush ended that any PNMS would visit their house.
Skeleton- At Skeleton, I was rushed by 6 or 7 girls in a 25 minutes period. Every time I was bumped, the sister I was speaking to and the new sister would whisper something in each others' ears. Talk about awkward. Anyway, I enjoyed speaking with ONE of the several girls I talked to. The rest seemed either annoyed or bored and while they didn't say anything downright rude, they didn't try to hide it.
Pumpkin- The last house of the night. I spoke to 2 pumpkins and had the 2 best conversations of the night! When all the sisters sang a song together, I knew I wanted to be a pumpkin too!
That night I had to rank 6 sororities (excluding Mummy), 1-6

Day 2: Skits
I was invited back to 4 out of 4 possible parties. My schedule looked like this:
Zombie
Black Cat
Ghost
Witch
I was glad i didn't have to go back to Skeleton, but it really hurt that Pumpkin had overlooked me. I quickly got over it and was glad to get another chance to check out 4 great houses.
Zombie- I really liked all of the girls I talked to, again. I especially LOVED one girl who I spoke with for the majority of the party. We had so much in common!
Black Cat- I was rushed by the President, and no one else, for the entire party. I was really impressed by this, and curious as to whether this was a big deal or not. I liked her a lot, but I still had no idea what I thought about this house.
Ghost- Ghost's skit was in the basement of their house, which reeked of alcohol. Huge turnoff. The girl I talked to was nice to me, but like yesterday, we didn't have much in common.
Witch- I talked to several girls at witch. Some I clicked with, some I didn't. It was becoming more obvious to me how perfect each and every Witch was.
After the parties, I ranked all 4 houses:

Pref Night
My heart was in my throat when my rho chi knocked on my door an hour before pref night.
She handed me a sheet of paper that said:
Break
Break
Black Cat
What?! How could I only be invited back to one house?! I had loved Zombie and Witch and I thought they had loved me too... what happened? I went to Black Cat's party determined to make a good impression. I was disappointed to talk to the same nervous girl from day 1. However, we had a much better conversation today. I was impressed again when I noticed that the President was not rushing anybody, and she stopped by to say hey to me. And as far as I could tell, I was the only PNM in the room that she did this to!
That night, I ranked every house (except Mummy):

Pumpkin

I was nervous all day. Come 7 PM, my rho chi had NOT called me or knocked on my door! My bid card read:
ZETA TAU ALPHA!
And I am so glad it did! I have the best sisters I could ever ask for! The ZTA rho chis taught us a cheer before we ran to our house:
