One of my favorites. Especially since the original Greek Letters for the Fraternity were Sigma Phi.

The other one that seems to get a lot of "No really, this is what it means," is Phi Kappa Tau: Fellowship of the Knights Templar.

If it wasn't known before, then I bet this took off in the mid to late 1970s. In the stage production "Vanities" (1976; the t.v. movie first aired in 1981), three Texas high school cheerleaders all pledge Kappa Kappa Gamma in college. One of the lines they all recite together regarding Kappa is "Noble Noble Women with the Key to the Kingdom of God." When I was in college, the UK Kappas would often repeat this phrase themselves. More to throw people off... allegedly.
