I was reading your post and it just struck me as odd that some will try to judge whether others are patriotic. What is the true test of whether someone is patriotic?
For example, if my ancestors built much of this country using nothing but their bare backs, strength and grit, and they did it for FREE; if my ancestors got eaten up by dogs, hosed with water, etc. to promote the ideals that are embodied in the rights in the constitution in AMERICA, am I not patriotic if I criticize the country. Do I not have the right? Ok, tell you what, just give me the money that's owed to my ancestors for all that free labor that made some of the majority population in this country wealthy (or at least gave them land and a start in life) and we'll call it even. How about that? Oh, and can I get the money with interest?
I'd better not hear one person call someone unpatriotic around me. The main ones calling someone unpatriotic are NOT the ones who built this country with their backs, had their families ripped apart for its southern economy, and did all that FOR FREE.
Now THAT'S patriotic!

All these so called "Patriots" and "real Americans" who are running around talking about how great America is because Howard can even make the comment and how soldiers are dying so he can say what he wants are getting on my dayum nerves.
If I have freedom of speech let me use it. Do not try to crucify me when I say that I could care less about the Star Spangled Banner and that I happily stand and sing along to the Negro National Anthem ("whatever that is") with my fist in the air. And don't get mad because I do not say or respect your pledge. I am American and as such I have a right to NOT say or do whatever I want.
And please don't get it twisted soldiers are not dying so that I have freedom of speech. They are dying because we have a government that is run by an idiot who believes it is his destiny to control the world.
And one more thing...Why is what some random athlete says all of a sudden political news? |
