Every year during recruitment it happens to at least a handful of PNMs that something they did or maybe they just have a terrible personality has caused them to get released from all (or virtually all) of the chapters on campus. Last year there was one woman who was highly intelligent, drop-dead gorgeous and a social butterfly...however, she also had a very apparent coke problem and was caught having sex in a stairway in her dorm (!!!). The no recs from alumnae alone were flooding in to every sorority before she even signed up for recruitment. Even without those no recs there isn't a shot in hell that we would have considered her.
