His name could be Joshua, even w/ hippy parents, because it is not a very "hippy" name, thus it being ironic.
Maybe they named him with the Hellenized version of Yehoshu'a -- Jesus.

The whole "Joshua Whopper" name is a reference to the movie "War Games", where the computer WOPR (War Operations something something) is nicknamed "Joshua" by its creator. In the flashback they showed the Bill Gates lookalike sitting down at the computer to create the student file and the computer said, "Would you like to play a game?" exactly the way it did in the movie. I have fond memories of this movie because my husband proposed after we watched it.

Half the fun of watching Greek is trying to catch the references.

That's what I thought of when I heard that. That was a great movie and I'm glad AMC plays it every now and then. Matthew Broderick was so young!

I think I have crush on Max. He's so dreamy. ETA: Now I know why I think he's so dreamy. I didn't know he was Alexis Bledel's love interest in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series!

YAY, GREEK IS BACK... Frannie is a bitch again, Chambers is a douche, Casey is putting her foot back in her mouth, this was one of my favorite episodes from the Never Have I ever (esp. when "i never slept with evan chambers")... to the Chambers manipulation for the French Grade, to Viva la Pledge Revolution.

Oh wow...That sounds really good, too! I didn't even know about this movie called "War Games" so, you have taught me something. I'll have to check it out. I honestly didn't get the whole thing they were doing with the Whopper and sitting at a computer-I was completely lost at first. So, that would be the best answer, yet! That's pretty funny! Yes, I like how they have tons of references like when the KappaTau pledge said that his brothers were lazier than Paris Hilton's left eye. That was pretty creative considering I've always noticed that and wondered why even "The Soup" on "E" never made a comment like that about her.

Seriously, Frannie can't actually be running for president. She was removed by their nationals. Can't we bring a new charecter in who is vying for the spot to kinda mix it up. Maybe Rebecca should run?

And I totally heart Max!

I wonder what ZBZ national policy on this is?

And I heart Max too - he's so darn cute!

I *heart* Max as well. I think it is good for Casey to date outside Greekdom just to get away from it every now and then.

Hahahaha...MysticCat, I love you! That was too funny and you are probably right! We will get to the bottom of this. I forgot his parents were hippies. That would be pretty funny if he was Joshua Whopper.
