To Found or not to Found? A Frat/Sorority for the underground.
I go to school at a smaller university; and there's only a few sororities to choose from. My friends and I are more of the underground, raver, less-than-pink variety, but we still want to go Greek. Unfortunately, none of the social sororities at the school are really up our alley.
So, we were thinking, maybe we can found one. Everyone is always telling us 'get involved!' and what better way to get involved than to draw the lines of your own involvement? I understand that founding a fraternity (for guys and gals) requires a lot of time, effort, and hard-ace work. We'd be grateful for any input anyone might have, any suggestions or support.
We're currently in the process of researching our school's expansion policy and seeking a staff member to support us, and we already have an idea of a name and our charity, I'll post these tentative details below.
Who, What, etc:
Name: Nu Omicron Sigma (NOS, or NOS Underground)
-Dedicated to the Arts and Media, to Elegance, and to Badassery. (for lack of a better word XD)
Colors: Black and neon anything
Charity: Local Animal Rescue and the WWF
Membership: Male and Female, Any Ethnicity
Organizational Structure: A "Court", ruled by at least two Matriarchs and/or Patriarchs (instead of the dull titles of 'president' and 'vice president')
...and that's it...

Why don't you just start a "State U Students and Others For Animals" club instead of slapping Greek letters on it?
plus it's not underground if everyone knows about it. just saying is all.

This sounds interesting..... it could either be a huge success or a big failure of Dungeons & Dragons proportions.
Are you SURE there is no other coed Greek letter organization that speaks to your needs?

Although there probably is more than one fraternity chapter that started with a bunch of guys watching WWF on a regular basis.

I can tell you right now if I were a freshman student and a fraternity or sorority whose motto contained the word "badassery" attempted to get me to join, I would walk in the opposite direction.
