Post What do you think about renegades

If you were visiting a campus where your fellow frat or sorors were suspended and you found out that they were still conducting intake underground would you show those people brought in this way, love? How do you feel about people who wear nalia and claim your organization, when they aren't even recognized by nationals? Is this more frequently found in the fraternities or do the sororities deal with this as well?

Damn, good question. I guess my first comment is that if you are not recognized by nationals, then I can't really call you frat, but that doesn't mean that I am going to hate on you either. Our founders set up a Grand/National chapter for a reason. To make sure that all the chapters are following the rules and objectives set forth by the Founders. When indivdual chapters take it upon themselves to disobey and go outside of the rules and make people without clearing it with the Grand Chapter, I don't agree with that. You are bringing in illegitimate children into our family.

What I would do would be to talk to these renegades and tell them that they have to become recognized by the Grand Chapter. If you trully love my organization, then you will do whatever you have to, to become a financial and active member.

Pledging/Intake is the easy part, living the life as a #$%man (whatever fraternity) is the hard part.

I parting, I wish you luv peace and soul.

I agree with what MandingO Nupe said. I have never personally met a 'ghost' but I would hope that if they know they are not official members, that they would take the steps necessary to become one. I question why anyone would want to be a renegade. I know that some people don't know that they are not official. What I can't understand are the people who participate in intake and know that they are not official members. They shouldn't wear nalia because they aren't members. I believe that renegades are more common in the fraternities, but I am not sure about that??
