OMG I love that quote. . . . I am obsessed with handbags and I totally get it from my mother unfortunately by the time she realized shed passed on the obsession it was to late stop it. . .
FYI - Lately if you look in T.J. Maxx or Marshalls you can find a decent stock of designer backs for a fraction of the price it just takes a bit of patience. . .
