I can't wait for the 9 to 5 musical with Alison Janney, Megan Hilty and Stephanie J. Block!

I'm also curious to see what happens with Shrek The Musical, especially the costumes and set. Has anyone else heard the songs that have come out? I especially like I Know Its Today but the others have yet to grow on me. The Seattle previews start next week I think.

Good question. I know son auditioned some time ago, so it's been cast, but I haven't heard anything more about it at all.

Brian D'Arcy James and Sutton Foster are Shrek and Fiona. He sounds just like Mike Myers in the songs I've heard!

Ohhhh Sutton Foster. I adore her.

I hope this show does well and isn't a flop. It seems interesting, to say the least.

I just want to say that I am pumped for Equus! I'll be making a trip to NYC to see it.

Thats just downright scary! Has broadway gotten that bad that they must turn Shrek into a musical or a play?

I've been reading reviews of Shrek the Musical on Broadway World. They seem to be revamping it and making some good last minute changes. Has anyone seen it yet? I'm trying to decide whether to get tickets for it for our upcoming December trip.

Rent fans:

When "RENT," Broadway's landmark musical, marks the end of an era and closes its historic run, Sony Pictures Releasing's new special programming division The Hot Ticket will be there. For the first time ever, audiences across the country who are unable to attend a Broadway show will be able to see this once-in-a-lifetime event as The Hot Ticket presents the closing of "RENT" in select movie theaters with special limited engagement performances September 24th, 25th, 27th, and 28th.
I saw it tonight! Might see it again this weekend

I saw Spring Awakening (travelling Broadway cast) last night and LOVED it!!

Once I got over the heeby jeebies of the nude/sex scene I cannot tell you how glad I am that I went to see this with a friend and not my son! lol

The music was AWESOME, I just bought the album on I-tunes.

Audition help!

Bump! I need a Broadway song to sing for an audition in August. It's for It's A Wonderful Life: The Musical. I couldn't find anything else by the composer (Bruce Greer?), but the female songs seem to be in the soprano range, and with a bit of a 1940's/1950's vibe. My first thought was to do something from Anything Goes, but the best songs from that show are mezzo/alto. Any suggestions?

Umm, I would recommend looking at The Simple Joys of Maidenhood, With a Song in my Heart, or You'll Never Walk Alone... they are all classic soprano solos... and seen as good audition pieces...

I'm watching the Tonys right now! Billy Elliot just won Best Musical...but before that I was already rushing to post here how much I'm now DYING to see it after seeing the dance number in tonight's show. I saw the movie years ago and loved it. Has anybody seen the musical version?
