I was busy baking a birthday cake so I missed it this week! And yes, I let my kids eat the cake.

I need another JK+8 marathon so I can catch up.

They had one on last night. Hopefully you were able to catch it.

I know they have 2 episodes daily in the morning and one in the late afternoon. Mondays, and sometimes Wednesdays and Sundays are when they have the multiple episodes.

This current season has just been...okay, IMHO.

According to http://gosselinswithoutpity.blogspot.com/...

Someone from the Gosselins' neighborhood took a picture of 3 new signs erected in the front yard. Here's one of them:

You can't read it, but apparently it says: Do not stop in front of our house, do not take pictures and do not stop and talk to us. house, do not take pictures and do not stop and talk to us.

Apparently The National Enquirer did a story on them and J&K posted a message on their website in response to that and the rest of the stuff being said online. The message has since been removed, but Aunt Jodi's sister quoted it for posterity.

The signs are probably a neccessity at this point, considering that some people don't like them at all, they have small children, and some of those people are not the nicest folks in the world (as seen on some JK8 boards).

You know, when this show started, I had no clue that it would get as much negative attention as it does, especially from the mommy crowd on the internet.

ETA: And how did Jodi's sister get so involved in all of this? Also, why has she made like 3 blog posts about the fact that Kate hates her kids having gum balls? Does she not have a job/hobby/life?

Actually, I'm not that surprised. The "mommy crowd" (much like the one you see on jk8forum.com) seem to have no problem criticizing Kate's parenting skills. Sometimes I think it's because they have nothing better to do.

Speaking of jk8forum, I can't remember when it was last that I posted something, but it was definitely something criticizing those mommies of being cruel and sick even. It's been a while, so I finally went back to the forums and found out that my IP had been banned. LOL The admin even modified the boards so that you can't even see the general boards anymore if you're a guest. Talk about dictatorship...you HAVE to hate Kate to be a member!

OMG i'm cracking up @ the terrorization of Collin during "Gumgate." Since when is throwing away a toy, terrorizing Collin? Yeah, she yelled....and what? "Aunt Jodi's sister" kept trying to justify it by saying that J&K give the kids gum on trips. Duh! Even J&K said that.

I'm sorry, I wouldn't give a 3 year old gum, let alone 6 of them.

That site is nuts.

Yeah I think alot of the internet "hate" that JK8 gets comes from that stay- at-home mom crowd, who likely has no life outside of their kids and parenting.

And they come up with some of the WEIRDEST exaggerations concerning Kate's parenting, such as (and I have actually seen this on JK hate blogs):

*Alexis sleeping in the basement is going to cause her to die of carbon monoxide poisoning.

*Throwing out the kid's old toys and blankies is cruel and damaging to their self-esteem, and will cause them to grow up resenting Kate.

*Making the kids eat MOST (not all) of their dinner to get dessert is going to cause the girls to develop eating disorders and die.

*Making the kids eat what you cook (and not making them special meals when they're being picky) is going to cause them to become malnourished and die. (Who has time to make 8 separate meals every day?)

*Putting them in time out and ignoring them is abusive and someone should call child protective services on them for that.

*The kids are too young to be sleeping in regular beds and they will fall out, break their necks, and die.

*They were potty trained too young (I think they were 2 or 3) and won't develop a normal sexuality because of it.

*Cara and Mady are going to grow up to be drug addict party girls who get into trouble because of their "lack of attention" from Kate.

You get the idea. I mean, no one is a perfect parent, but my goodness, they paint her out to be Hitler or something.

Regarding Alexis in the basement, I recall there was a Jon Benet/someone's gonna kidnap her reference they made once.

Did you see the thread where they googled themselves and actually quoted one of my posts here (I think it said something like "OMG they're crazy"). I tried to join but you cannot use a gmail/yahoo etc email address. It has to come from a paid ISP!

Unfortunately I didn't see it. Maybe that's why they made all but 4 forums members only.

Those women actually make GC look like HPRL!

I've come to realize recently how insane the online stay-at-home mom community can be. And I'm talking about the "alternative" stay at home moms - the ones who are super into attached parenting and cosleeping and all that. Based on what KSUViolet posted, it seems like a lot of the criticisms are coming from people like that. Crazy crazy crazy people.

The women at theknot.com are just as bad. Although I really do think now that the SAHM online community's worse.

it's not just SAHM online communities that are bad. Real life ones are pretty harsh as well. I thought adults had grown out of that judgemental/bitchy phase during high school. Then I had kids. Moms can be absolutely horrible to other Moms. I remember coming home from "playdates" and "Mom's Day Outs" in tears many times until I would stop going because of the judgementalness of some of the Mommy Cliques. It wasn't all Moms, but some see it as a new way to be popular (you weren't homecoming queen- well now you can be queen bee of the preschool set!). Off my soapbox.

I'd rather call them helicopter moms than SAHMs because that's truly the problem.. not that they are SAHMs, but that they are overly controlling with their kids. I ran into one of the worst ones at the grocery store a couple weeks ago. She's freaking out about sending her 14 year old son to band camp (he's going into 9th grade!) because he's never been away from home before. I say "Oh, LilAgdee went last year and had a blast, he'll be fine" and she asks me "What's LilAgdee doing this summer?" <evil grin> "Well, she's in Austria today, she's on a 19 day trip to Europe.. France, Switzerland, Austria and Italy" . This woman's jaw dropped. I'm surprised she didn't call protective services on me for sending my kid away. LOL

I was amazed by the La Leche League leader who lived next door to me long ago - about 4 weeks before I had my second daughter I had a breast cancer scare. The oncologist and I agreed that after I gave birth I would nurse for six weeks, then wait six weeks so we could see if we had real cause to worry. (Everything worked out fine, thank God. I didn't have breast cancer, and the now-sixteen year old daughter is beautiful, brilliant and healthy). The La Leaky League leader was HORRIFIED -apparently, it would have been better for me to have continued to nurse her, even if it meant I had to suffer from breast cancer and possibly die. I really couldn't believe that it would be better for my daughter to lose her mother than have formula.
