The critique of Batman is coming from the same poster who LOVED "The Happening" by M Night Schmilaj;asg;a
So, what does that tell you?

Ya know, it really pisses me off that they did that. I still say whomever suggested that should be fired. Then they had the nerve to keep showing his mouth with his lisp.
And Bale made a real goof-off Bruce Wayne, too. Maybe they thought his voice was too goof-offy to be Batman's voice.

With exception for The Dark Knight, the first 2 Batman movies were the best.
I had forgotten how GOOFY Batman Forever was with Val Kilmer, Tommy Lee Jones (as Two-Face ) and Jim Carey (as The Riddler ).

I actually liked Jim Carey! The ones I hated was the one with Arnold, and the one w/ the Penguin.

I apologize, that's what I meant. (I should really be apologizing to Jack Nicholson I love him) I know he's the ideal Riddler to many but I didn't like him.
The one with Arnold sucked but who else would've played Mr. Freeze?

I happened to be reading about the Batman franchise on wikipedia today actually. According to a (sourced) statement there,
Quote:
Anthony Hopkins, Patrick Stewart, and Ben Kingsley were all considered for the role of Mr. Freeze, though ultimately Arnold Schwarzenegger was cast because Joel Schumacher decided that Mr. Freeze must be "big and strong like he was chiseled out of a glacier".

Wow. Here's the link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_...29#Development
It almost makes me want to go back and watch all the movies... I remember really liking Tim Burton's original. I don't remember the second one well enough to comment. And for the Schumacher installments I was in late elementary/middle school so I don't remember picking up on TEH SUCK. Another interesting note on wikipedia is how some people perceived the films to be homoeroticized by Schumacher. I can't really comment on that since I don't remember and those perceptions could be the product of homophobia. But I REALLY want to go back and watch those for the pure cheese factor alone.

I think Arnold was a good choice is "big" is what they were going for. I read today that there was a "Batman fan debate" about Jim Carey vs. Heath Ledger for The Joker. I guess that's where I got The Joker from in my other post. Carey as The Joker would've sucked worse than Carey as The Riddler. He acts the same in most of his movies.
LOL @ TEH SUCK
Hmmmm...homoeroticized? I guess there are all sorts of images in movies depending on the observer.
On the warner bros site you can purchase the DVDs. I have no interest in revisiting the last 2 Batman movies. At all. I would like to see the first 2 movies again.

Jim Carey seriously grosses me out.
The examples of homoeroticization I read about were some battle taking place in a corridor of naked male statues, naked butt shots of Clooney and O'Donnell (don't remember this?!?!?!), and the much-maligned Batsuit nipples.
I have decided not to get cable at my new place, and I think I might get netflix again. If so I may revisit the Batman movies...

He is gross and much of that can be attributed to his "physical comedy" or whatever it's called.
Okay Batman's nipples are funny. I guess the suit-abs require suit-nipples. I don't recall naked butt shots but I've removed much of the Clooney-O'Donnell movie from my memory because it sucked.

We finally saw it yesterday morning. I hope to go see it again sometime next week. I'm just so thankful I didn't have to sit through Katie Holmes, however, after seeing the Rachel's storyline I almost wish she reprised the role.
I'm surprised more people aren't talking about Michael Caine and/or Morgan Freeman. I thought both gave outstanding performances.

They were great. They were much better than Christian Bale's rendition of Batman. However, I suspect that no one expected Caine and Freeman to not be great and/or no one thought their supporting roles left a lot of room for acting creativity.
None of the reviews I've read have given due credit to the senior actors on the roster. The critics and fans are basically too busy crooning over Heath Ledger and trying to find a reason to give Bale a head nod.
On that note:
The more I think about this movie, the more I didn't like Bale as Bruce Wayne or his raspy lisped Batman. I know that Ledger's death has made this movie more about Ledger's Joker than Batman. That could have to do with the fact that they've switched Batman's a few times in the series whereas The Joker has pretty consistently been Jack Nicholson. I haven't seen any advertisements that don't have Joker as the focal point. I wonder if any scenes were cut to highlight The Joker even more after Ledger's passing or if that's how the movie was always intended. This movie should be called "The Joker." That could be my anti-Bale and pro-Ledger bias, though.
