Is Ocella the generic version? If it is, it probably isn't the pharmacy that you'd have to contact, it would be your insurance. I had to fight to get my last insurance policy to keep me on the name brand. My doctor had to rewrite the prescription so that the generic couldn't be used and I had to pay an extra copay.

Second here that the generic or "it's the same as ____ but it's by a different manufactururer, you'll never see the difference" is BEE ESS as far as birth control pills are concerned.

Amen. My lame insurance won't pay for brand name birth control, but the generic makes me sooo sick and icky feeling, so I've just resigned to paying for it out of pocket.

I've never had problems with generics, even though I've heard plenty of horror stories.

My doctor and I are convinced that my switching to a generic has something to do with my weight gain. It times too perfectly and there is no other reason for me to gain almost 40lbs in such a short time. My diet didn't drastically change and I was actually exercising more. Once I switched off, I lost 20lbs in about 1 1/2...with no diet change. Now only if I could lose the rest....but thats another thread.

My doctor put me on Yasmin because of the diauretic (sp?) in it. I gained about 30 on Ortho years ago. I called the office today and the nurse told me it is the exact same as Yasmin and the nauseousness is from changing to a different pill and if it didn't go away in a few days they'd switch me back.
