i think it'd be fine on my campus. plus it's something that makes you stand out a little bit more from all the other girls, which can be helpful, especially if there's a lot of pnms!

The whole "stand out vs. blend in" argument is a moot point at pref IMO. Pref is your 4th time visiting the chapter. People will know who you are. Plus, the chapters are trying to impress you more than you are trying to impress them. The bidlists are set before pref at my campus (meaning there are no cuts) and should be at any campus that uses the RFM.

I respectfully disagree with this and think it is misleading to a pnm who might be reading it. Actual bidlists are not set before pref...Yes, with RFM, everyone who attends the max parties allowed will fall somewhere on the list, but Who goes where is not determined before the round.

But I do agree that it is a little late to try to stand out on pref night.

REgarding the dress - I think it is adorable, BUT the campus is important when determining if it is pref night appropriate.

Tossing my 2 cents in here--it's definitely a fun dress but maybe save it wear it to an event later on.

Pref is in my opinion still an opportunity to NOT make a case for yourself, and you wouldn't want it to come down to a wardrobe choice. That same dress in a solid color might be more appropriate. Pick a stunning accessory such as some striking earrings or bracelet to do the "standing out." I'd try to steer away from anything too revealing in the cash and prizes department. Check on your panhellenic's website or visit a few at other schools to get a sense of what they feel are good choices.

I agree. Unless the PNM is falling out of the dress (yikes), it would probably be really cute!

Why take the chance? This is a really cute dress, but prefs are really serious, and that dress is NOT!

you are trying to impress girls, not guys. as others have said, save that dress for a social or clubbing.

This has been said 1,000 times before but bears repeating. It is easily the #1 dress mistake I see every year during Recruitment. #2 is bad fit, usually too tight and that kind of ties in with #1. #3 non-stop tugging on a strapless dress to make sure it's in place.

My 2 cents.

I like the dress a lot, but not for prefs. Go for something more conservative. Think of something you'd wear to your older cousin's wedding. Things like that.
