I went to elementary school with someone named "Mister." It confused me to no end. His last name was Jones or something generic like that so teachers and students were always saying "Mister Jones." I didn't understand why he got so much respect! Then, when the yearbook came out at the end of the year, I learned it was his name..

I hope he doesn't have sisters named "Miss" and "Misses."

Jermaine Jackson has a kid named Jermajesty.

Let the records show that that's something I will never name my own child.

Some teacher is Northeast Alabama is gonna be in trouble in a few years. A friend told us that she has met someone who has named her triplets Ayden, Brayden, and Cayden. (See earlier posts if you don't know what kids with the -ayden names do to teachers.)

I had a girl in a class one time named "Vaginia". It was supposed to be pronounced Vah-gin-ee-a. You can imagine how many times someone glanced at her name in print and said "vagina" without thinking.

I would've had it legally changed the second I turned 18. There's no way she doesn't get sick of people accidentally calling her "vagina".

My sister and her gf always share the unusual names of the children in their class on the first day of school. This year sister lost-- no unusual names but gf took the prize by leaps and bounds. She has a child in her class named WAFFLE. My BIL was asking if Waffle is Belgian, the friend replied no, but Waffle does have a brother and his name is FRENCH TOAST!

That actually beats a girl I graduated HS with-- her name is Twinkle Star and she was born in the '50's when the unusual names were not as common an occurrence.

As a librarian, I saw all the children in the school and I have seen my share of "unusual" names:

Uniroyal
Bobshonda
Peaches - she went by her nickname because her real name was Cocaine
Shellafonica
Ivory Cloud - who I think should have been a famous athlete or have his name up in lights somewhere

Angel - never met a boy Angel who was decently behaved

I've put this on GC before but my husband's all-time worst name and possibly student was Reptipilis. Seriously.

And he keeps getting reminded of it because ole Reptipilis' name keeps ending up in the paper; despite being close to 40, she can't stay out of trouble.

To quote my kinderarten teacher friend: All Chads and Dustins have a 99% chance of being the spawn of Satan.

She also has triplets in her class named (ready?) Kamri, Lexis, and Mercedes who are complete hellions.

LOL @ Kamri. I guess she's the prodigal daughter? Why couldn't she be a luxury car, too?

Audisha? Infinitanya? Something!

I just read Infinitanya as Infinyata, which seems like it could actually be a name.
