Actually, you may know more Greeks in your community than you think. If you're looking for recommendations, talk to your teachers, friends' parents, friends of your parents, members of your church and community leaders. Many of them may have gone Greek when they were in college and would be great resources for those oh-so-necessary UGA recommendations.

I know of a few others now, but they don't know me very well. Do you think I could still ask them for recs?

You'll really never know if they'll write you one unless you ask! Some alumnae will write recs for women they don't know very well, others may be a little hesitant, but there is certainly no harm in asking.
