eh, this is what happens when you go to a hippie school and turn co-ed.

I personally find it offensive and a perversion of what greeks are all about but if I push too hard on the topic all I'll hear is:

"Maybe they have better brotherhood than your chapter!"

"You don't know them so don't judge them!"

blah blah blah

so I'll just roll my eyes and move on.

Yeah, I agree with this.

Hey if your chapter is nerdy/dorky/socially inept/quirky/etc. then that's fine, but composites aren't something to mess with, IMHO.

That's a dumb answer, IMO. It's not like composites are some great tradition for fraternities that can't be encroached on. There's no national "standard" for composites. There's plenty of traditions and ritualistic stuff that have to be done right or you're not really your fraternity. The composite is pretty clearly not one of those traditions.

This topic just really surprises me. I'm from a very traditional, top-tier southern chapter of a fraternity that is good (if very traditional) nationwide and that composite doesn't bother me. No we wouldn't take our composite that way, but I think it's funny and ok for a co-ed fraternity at a pretty odd school. Why is it such a travesty to some of you all?

Consider the source.

By the way, I like your posts, although your restaurant makes me fat.
