40% Yankee for me. Makes sense, since Maryland is a border state but slightly more Northern.
Baltimore does have a weird accent, but in some ways it is similar to mine. We say our "O's" the same. A served at a restaurant in B'more actually assumed I was a native Baltimorean after I said, "No." I laughed my butt off since I've lived all of my life in Louisiana until now.

73% (Dixie). That is a pretty strong Southern score!

Only two problems with this quiz 1) I have always called rolly pollies doodle bugs I didn't even know that there was an actual bug called a doodle bug, and 2) Toilet Papering someones house is called wrapping. (It seems several other people agree with me)

63% (Dixie). A definitive Southern score!

Funny. I grew up (and still live in during the summer) in Southern Illinois near St. Louis, yet still speak with a Southern accent! I guess we really aren't true Illinoisans!

Southern Illinois is Dixie at the very tip. Many of the people there did fight on the Dixie side of the war, even though they were in a free state.

Rather interesting test:
44% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category.

I use puh cohn (rhymes with John)

Here, Duane is one syllable dwayne

One of my pet peeves, as an Italian is how that is pronounced. It's not Eye Talian, it's It (rhymes with sit) alian. I've never heard someone say "Eye taly" for the country!

100% (Dixie). Is General Lee your father?

I'm not ashamed of it. (Although some on here act like they're too good to be using Southern dialects...)

I thought I'd won until I saw your score!

Here's mine:

96% (Dixie). Is General Lee your father?

Probably not significantly different! I really thought I was going to be barely southern. I live in the Maryland now, and EVERYONE comments on my accent, which I don't hear at all. I guess I really do sound southern.
