Are you in a sorority? Your boyfriend can give you a lavaliere to wear if he wants, and you can have a candlelighting for it at your own chapter. I doubt anyone is going to jump up and scream "You can't do that...you bf is an alum." The whole candlelighting ceremony is a celebration of a milestone in your personal life...there aren't a lot of regulations.
