Frostburg State University?
Hi guys. I'm new here, so please forgive me if I do something wrong...
Any way, my little sister is going to Frostburg State in western MD this fall, and I REALLY want her to become a part of greek life. We've looked at the website, but it doesn't really have any info. I don't want to step on anyone's toes and ask about good chapters or bad chapters, just wanted to see if anyone could tell us stuff about greek life in general. Like, is it a big deal on campus, and how hard is it to get into a house? She's a really sweet girl and I want her to have the best time possible. Any advice or information you can give us would be great! Thanks!

She would need to attend Rush for all the Sororities and see what fits her. It's a personal decision because we all know our sorority is the best

Frostburg has 3 NPC sororities: Alpha Xi Delta, Delta Zeta, Alpha Sigma Tau
It also appears that they have defered recruitment, as their website states that first semester freshmen are not permitted to join (and that you must have 12 credits).
From what I know, Frostburg does not have a competitve recruitment . And while no one is really guaranteed a bid (at any school), as long as you present yourself well and are open-minded, you have a good chance of getting a bid.
For advice, try to check out this thread: http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...ad.php?t=30758

Per this post, there are also 3 local sororities (although it appears that one of the groups is no longer on campus and one that is is on probation). There are also chapters of Kappa Beta Gamma and Delta Omicron. KBG is a national social sorority which is not part of NPC. Delta Omicron is a professional, co-ed music fraternity.

My brother goes there, but he's completely socially unaware and has no idea what Greek Life is like. I am guessing it's not that competitive because of the size and number of chapters relative to the size of the student body. I know there was an AST from Frostburg that used to post but I don't think she's been around lately.
