It's miserable but it could be worse. It could be hot & humid.
I live less than an hour away from Palm Springs so it's always hot around here but I'm kinda used to it. Still, I suggest loads of sunscreen and drink lots of water.

When we had our Convention in Palm Springs I was expecting dry heat - but our hotel had a river running through it, so we got the humidity, too! It was like a sauna near the "river".

Phi Gamma Delta summer 2008
On August 6-10, the Phi Gamma Delta Ekklesia will take place in Miami Beach, Florida; it is Fiji's 160th convention! We will be in the downtown Miami Hilton.

The Alpha Gams are back from a wonderful Convention in San Antonio. Most of us felt it was THE best convention ever. Having a site where the hotel was connected to a mall was a HUGE perk! The Knibbe Ranch was the ultimate in fun. As I commented to some sisters that night, "This was like a huge fraternity party, but without the men or the alcohol, and we had the best time without either!" Classic pictures of sisters on Oreo the longhorn steer and competing in armadillo races and we danced the night away! Great location, great company, great time! We loved it! And I MUST get back to San Antonio when I have more time to enjoy the city!
And in 2010, we will be heading to Tampa!

AGDee, so glad your Convention was a huge success. Thanks for sharing the "report" with all of us. I do think San Antonio is a great location.
I leave for the Chi Omega Convention in St. Louis in just a couple of weeks. I do wonder what the flooding situation will be like then.

We Thetas are back from Miami. Other than yucky weather (daily thunderstorms) and some travel delays because of it, it was a wonderful Convention!! I, for one, needed a lot of sleep the last two nights to catch up. It was worth it.
We'll be in Tucson (the right time zone!!) in 2010.

The flooding situation in St. Louis isn't too horrible. It depends on where you're staying (I'm assuming downtown?), but the only place that is flooded is Leonore K. Sullivan blvd. that runs right by the river and by Lacledes landing. It's completely under.
The water will be there for a while -- but it won't be horrible for you when you get there! Unless we get another mass beating of rain.
