San Antonio
Note on San Antonio--its been HOT here the last few weeks, much so for this early in the summer. When visiting outside, plan to stay hydrated.
We have not had a whole lot of rain this year yet, so bugs shouldn't be too bad, especially in the city.
For the Riverwalk--I highly recommend a restuarant called Iron Cactus. Its my fave down there and they have great tableside guacamole. I take visitors there and they are always impressed, especially when they find out mayonaise is not an ingredient in authentic guac.
Enjoy!!

SAI has triennial conventions and our next one is not until next year...in chicago, I believe.
Phi Sig, on the other hand, is having Grand Chapter and Convention is early August in Tennessee.

As Chaos said, Deltas will be in Orlando this summer, July 24-30. OPhiAs will be in Denver July 16-20.

Convention
I wish I were going to the Sigma Delta Tau 44th National Biennial Convention at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort in Ft. Lauderdale, FL from June 26-29.
I attended the Biennial Convention in 1964 at Sportsmen's Lodge in North Hollywood, CA as a delegate from my chapter. In addition to the informative leadership sessions, it included an entire day spent at Disneyland. That day, Disneyland was inundated with hundreds of lovely young women wearing cafe au lait and old blue shirts with Sigma Delta Tau proudly emblazoned on the front. I still have mine, but getting into it today would take a real effort!
I urge all members of GLO's and all alumnae to attend their sorority's national conventions if possible. They are not only informative but entertaining as well. Meeting sisters and alums from other chapters promotes acceptance of our differences as well as unity.
I hope eveyone who attends has the time of her life!

I have met sisters at Convention who have become lifelong friends and I so look forward to seeing them every two years! Convention rejuvenates my enthusiasm for Alpha Gamma Delta and is always inspiring. In attending Convention, you get the true sense for your (inter)national organization and your appreciation for the organization beyond your own chapter grows with each Convention.

We had dinner at the Iron Cactus tonight and it was excellent! Thanks again for the tip! I have until around 2 pm to do some things tomorrow so I'm planning on an early morning trip to the Alamo (before it gets too hot), a riverboat tour, and then the pool!

So happy to hear you enjoyed Iron Cactus. Like I said, it is one of my favorites!
San Antonio is a GREAT convention city, especially if staying downtown. There is so much to do and everything downtown is really convenient.

Gamma Phi Beta's 2006 Convention was there; I didn't attend, but I've heard good and bad about the location.
I just returned tonight (exhausted!) from our Convention in Cincinnati. I had a blast, and even got to meet a couple GCers while there Our Convention 2010 will be at Walt Disney World Florida!
