The few colonizations I've been involved with have included a pref ceremony, usually presented by students from a nearby chapter.
Delta Gamma does not have a policy of naming new member classes. I know that some chapters do it, but after a few years, the practice is usually abandoned.
YMMV, depending on the group and the campus.

Something I've been curious about since I have never witnessed a colonization or recolonization. Seems that I read somewhere on GC that your sorority already has a house there, right? In those kinds of recolonization situations, does the entire new member class move into the house right away? Or maybe after chartering and initiation?

We do have a house but it only holds 55 women. When I was down there, the requirement would have been 2 years live in. I'm not sure what it will be for the new members. IMPO I don't think girls will be moving in to the house right away, mainly because they will either be A) in a dorm contract or B) in a lease, but you never can tell!

Based on the Colonies and Expansions thread, I assume she's talking about the University of Arizona recolonization.
