I think it's hilarious that Syracuse beat Notre Dame. Hope my Syracuse alum friends are enjoying it, they've had a rough few years.

I read on another message board that Irish fans were throwing snowballs at their team after the loss.

 Ole Miss over Florida!!
 The Sooners whip Texas Tech????
I did not pick well this week. I can't get over the point spread in the TT-OU game. It's like the old OU teams from the 'Boz' era are back!

I was pretty sure this was going to come down to defense, since both offenses were well matched. It seems like they just couldn't get started.
This is better than I expected, but I did expect to win.

That was ages ago. The Rebs took the Bayou Bengals to the shed today. Looking with Florida like Ole Miss probably beat the national champs though.

Ole Miss should be ranked after today. Even though they were inconsistent earlier in the season they have turned a corner and are now playing extremely well. I love to root for the underdogs so next week I am rooting for FSU over Florida, and Auburn (naturally) over 'Bama, and Arkansas over Oregon State.
BTW -
*brain fart*
I posted incorrectly in my earlier post..what I meant was:

i started watching it. then i saw us fall apart. so i watched the jungle book instead.
i had HOPE that we could pull it off, but when i had hope, i thought they would be playing... well... better, like the usual tech.
I hope we can stay in the Top 10.
Lubbock is a sad sad town right now.

Tech played a pathetic schedule with the exception of Texas and OSU.
Actually, Tech playing a pathetic schedule, winning some games they shouldn't win and then going down in flames is pretty "usual Tech" as far as I'm concerned

if we hadn't lost [miserably] last night i would have to disagree.
but yes. i agree, what i've been fearing all season to happen came to pass, and we got overly cocky leading to our demise. since we did get a lot of publicity, i hope the future recruiting classes can prove better adapted to bright lights [better than Harrell, who is a really good QB under normal circumstances]
but then again i'm from 'dallas'... where we've had the Cowboys and the Mavs choke under pressure... maybe thats why i'm not too phased.

I guess home field advantage really helps
Tech losing their cool so badly in Norman was extremely telling! Playing at Tech, with their scary fans (especially that guy that rings the bell - looks like a psycho!!) was a huge advantage to them. And, OU's record in Norman of 59-2 pretty much tells the tale.
Texas beating OU by 10 points on neutral territory should count for something, right?
Other factors to consider if I were voting in the polls (I am biased though )
Both TTU and OU had 2 weeks to prepare for each other, whereas Texas had 1 week to prepare for TT after coming off 3 weeks in a row (murderer's row) of tough games- Missouri, Oklahoma and OU.
Besides the week off, both Tech and OU had cream puff games leading into this game - thus having time to rest and recuperate injured players (dislocated elbows!).
Texas beating OU on a neutral field would have much more relevance if it happened a week ago! Of course, if that poor guy had caught the intereception, this would all be moot.
Oh well, sour grapes on my part, I was hoping to go to Miami and cheer for either one of my kid's schools!! I'll just be watching on TV now, but both boys are heading to their respective BCS bowl games - one the nat'l championship (provided UF beats bama), one an at large...

If you're going to continue to put Texas ahead of OU because they beat OU, then you're going to have to continue to put TTU ahead of UT.

I agree. I think it might just come down to the weak-az OOC schedule UT played as compared to OU, who trounced probable Big-East Champion Cincinnati (when they had their best QB) and TCU.

If UT doesn't make it into the Big XII CCG, then I think they still end up with an at-large selection in a BCS Bowl. They bring a HUGE TV audience. Maybe UT makes it to the Fiesta where they will depants Utah?

The only counter I can come up with to that are my reasons stated above - plus, UT lost to TTU in the final second, after staging a come from behind drive from inside the 10 yard line - AT TTU, which has incredible fans and home field advantage - I noticed they called holding on TT's offensive line a bit more in Norman than in Lubbock.
Also, in terms of how the game was won and lost - TTU beat UT by one last second score, whereas OU basically beat TTU in the 1st quarter. They could have been playing their waterboys by the 4th quarter! LOL!!

But Tex-ass only beat OU by 10 points (neutral field my ass, it is in Texas, that ain't neutral.) (And some of the calls in that game were questionable also, if you're going to say that the refs in the OU-Tech game were bad, the ones at OU-Tex-ass were worse.)
Tech only beat Texas by 6 points.
OU TROUNCED TECH by 44 points. There is absolutely no reason that Texas should be ranked above OU.
The last paragraph of your post is exactly the reasoning that I see. Tex-ass and Tech are even teams, the game was decided at the end. OU is vastly superior, since we won the game in the first half (unanswered at that point.) Ergo, Tex-ass ranking should be down there with Tech.
