hahaha
It always depends on who's fighting and how much damage is being done.

Me either, I'm a fragile flower. Edited: I didn't pay attention to the white part at first, but I'm LMAO!
Between a man and a woman?
I'll call the cops.
Btween two women?
Do nothing. Women being violent is hella hot.
Between two men?
Do nothing. Maybe yell "fight!" like I did in middle school. And why should I pay money to watch men wrestle and box, when I can watch one in the street for free?

If it's an argument that's getting heated, I'll usually ask "Are y'all ok?" to draw attention to the fact that another people are noticing what's happening. If there's a fight in progress, I'll call the police.
On a related topic, if I have ANY question about someone's safety (child, woman, man, whatever), I'll ask if they're ok. This has gotten me in trouble with parents in the past. It's one thing to smack your child in public, but it's another to beat the child down, particuarly with a weapon of some sort. If a child is on the ground and still getting hit, I'll ask if there's a problem.

I think I'd try to intervene if I saw a man hitting a woman (although that's a punk-azz move, and he'd probably pull up once he realized his punktivity was on full display.)
Two dudes or two women scrapping? ...I'd probably call 911, or go get one of the ever-present and effective mall security men.

i've done that before. i don't PHYSICALLY get involved but the eye contact to the "victim", ARE YOU OK, and eye contact back to the "aggressor" has been used to diffuse the situation.
random but related. one night back in college i was out late... in a place i had NO BUSINESS BEING anyway... and called my roomate to pick me up. on our way back to campus we see two people SCRAPPIN in the street. as we drove by we say hair flying so we were like oh no, thats a woman getting beat down. We drove up, honked the horn and flashed the lights and yelled GET IN THE CAR!!!!!! The dude was startled so he just kinda stood there while she jumped in... we drove about another block to a 24/7 grocery store and thank god there was a policeman on patrol. I don't know what happened after that but the lady was just crying and my roomie and i were shook for about a week after that.
anytime i *think* i see a situation i make sure to do the "are you o.k." check cause you never know.

I've broken up fights between two female friends...not a bright idea..but I was real close to em, one of em struck me...i didn't respond cause uh a 6'3'' dude hitting a woman back wouldn't be a good look
I haven't broken up a fight between male friends...from my experience it only occasionally gets physical....
and I don't get involved with couples..unless I sense there is some severity, e.g. I learn that there has been some problems...I know how to get involved without making things dangerous.
