That article says that they're also suing NPC for not doing enough to prevent the hazing.

That's definitely an interesting tactic, if they truly mean NPC and not the college PC. I'd like to hear more of that argument (and the response).

Also, what exactly are they suing for? The only thing in the article I see is that they want their dues money back. That will be settled in a week...it would be WAY cheaper for Tri Sigma to just cut them a check for their dues instead of paying for this to be drug out in court, etc. (even though in their membership agreement somewhere it says dues aren't refundable).

They're definitely barking up the wrong tree, but you know how these lawsuits go -- they name the deepest pocket they can find.

This will never see the inside of a courtroom.

These woman make me angry. First of all, how are they missing out on the "full" college experience when they are still in college? My chapter was closed right after they finished initiating the new member class, those girls, though disappointed, took it in stride. The sorority may not be recognized, but that does not mean the all of a sudden they will never see anyone ever again, they can all still be friends. I know you all think they are ridiculous, but I couldn't continue reading this without saying something.

Well, your campus situation was a little bit different than the norm.

If you're at a campus where there's a lot of emphasis on homecoming, intramurals, things like that for the Greeks - which I believe this campus pretty much is - and to be involved in that is part of the reason you went Greek in the first place, and if you're not recognized you can't participate in any of it, then yeah, you are missing out on a lot.
