Clearly you don't spend enough time on TMZ or Perez otherwise you would know they are the authority.  They have broken just about every major Hollywood-related story.

Perez I could care less about because he just annoys the heck outta me (that, and he plays favorites)...but IMHO I think TMZ.com's pretty reputable.
I know TMZ footage and news pieces were used in the Britney Spears custody case a few months back.
