Project Runway to move to Lifetime, NBC sues
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080407/...nF4_fm79VpMhkF
Is it me or Project Runway just doesn't fit with Lifetime? All I see is TV movies, Golden Girls and Army Wives.

So they kick out the GGs, which is been on Lifetime forever so they can be more "trendy". A lot of young people watch the GGs.
Lifetime is still a little cheesy, but good. Get rid of "Your Mama Don't Dance" instead of the GGs. And We is only good for Bridezillas and those other bridal shows. I rather for them to move it to Oxygen (and to stop showing Overboard 10 times a day).
I'm getting off of my soapbox now.

I think it's a bad move. First, Lifetime is not trendy, no matter how much it tries. But most of all, I know several men who watch Project Runway (my very masculine bf included, but don't tell him I told you that), and I just don't see them changing the channel to Lifetime. Too much of a mental roadblock there, as silly as that may be.

I will not watch Project Runway on Lifetime. I only watch Lifetime for the following reasons:
1) I'm depressed or sad and need to watch a made-for-TV movie to make me feel better
2) There's absolutely NOTHING else on!
3) I had a really bad break up (see aforementioned #1)
4) I want to feel nostalgic and watch Golden Girls.

Um Army Wives is on Lifetime and that show is AMAZING. I think it will be good for the network, and PR has a cult-like following like people won't get over a change of network. Besides, I bet you more people get Lifetime than Bravo.

If the rumors of it going to WE, then a lot more people get Bravo over WE. Half of my county doesnt get WE, Oxygen, or Style Network.

I heard that Golden Girl's rumor was incorrect, that they'd be moving to Hallmark. I really hope so because I don't get WE. As for PR on Lifetime, I think that is great because Lifetime is getting "hipper" by the day, especially with the addition of "How to Look Good Naked". It might not seem like a goo fit, they do need to change more to be more 'reality' based than before to make it more watchable for most people. Also, wouldn't it be a better fit on "Style Network"? I don't get Style, but perhaps they'd put it in more homes if PR was on it?

Women's Entertainment. All they show on there is a lot of bridal shows (Bridezilla, Rich Bride, Poor Bride) and some other reality shows (The Secret Lives of Women, 48 Hours reruns).

Hallmark is more for "older folks" than Lifetime. Even though I am guilty of watching them, they show a lot of Matlock, Perry Mason and Walker Texas Ranger. And if they did Golden Girls like they did The Facts of Life (another show I watched all the time as a kid), it won't be on there that long.
And I think Style would be perfect for a show like Project Runway.

Nina Garcia is out at Elle, but she's supposedly staying on the show at least for the next season. Marie Claire doesn't fit as well, imo, as Elle or Vogue would. It's a "women's magazine," not a fashion magazine.
