That would be beautiful! I'm picturing matching lavender formal dresses from David's Bridal...curse you, UF no-frills recruitment and your forbidding of mass ordering of dresses!

Typically Alpha Gam wears red dresses but my chapter decided a few years ago just to start wearing black because trying to get 60 girls to find nice dress that were the actual color of RED just wasn't working.

All of the sororities on campus had matching gowns that were worn during pref and Greek Sing slow song.
Our gowns had a black velvet scoop neck with 3/4 sleeves top with red satin T-length with bow in the back. We wore black nylons and black pumps. I think ours were the prettiest.
The other two sororities I preffed had 1. kelly green gowns and 2. banana yellow with a ruffle that went down and across the front if I remember correctly. Think coca cabana.

At GWU, DG chapter wore black with a fun piece of flair - ie hot shoes, hot bling, etc. It was classy and yet still festive. We also made nice looking name tags that didn't clash or look tacky.

This is exactly the same with my chapter. I just pledged this spring... and all the dresses were different shades of pink... from bubble gum to hot pink... so it looked, well, interesting to say the least. In the fall, we are switching to black cocktail dresses with pink pearls.

several zeta chapters have formal nametags which appear to have a brass plate mounted on a slightly larger black plate. the nametag has the crest engraved on it on the left side and the girls name -first and last name on the same line to the right of the crest. they are probably 2 inches long and 1 inch h. very classy looking.
that chapter i advise makes their own nametags and they follow the theme of the party. my own chapter did the same back in the day. i believe that we wore nametags for pref. in the shape of our badge.

At my campus it was mandated by Panhellenic that every active have a name tag. Our first year doing formal Theta had home made name tags; different ones for every night! They were fun to make and wear! Now they have pre-made ones with a white back ground, the seal in one corner, and the actives name in bold black letters. Most of the sororities have similar names tags for their actives.

my chapter does the little black dress with black heels, no shoulders can show, so most of us wear cardigans.
one chapter on my campus wears white and goes barefoot, and the other is black with one girl in green and one in red.
pref was always a crazy night, as all 3 of us used the same room, and there was only 30 minutes between parties, so you would have 20 minutes to set up and 10 to clean up, so there was some overlap in the room while getting ready.

We used to have those available; I'm not sure if we still do. My DAR chapter got them for $5/each. I think it's a very classy investment!

We're supposed to wear black dresses with gold jewelry to match our pins.
This is a picture of the sophomores from this year I'm the one in the front leaning down with brown hair and the silver sash.
