So are you saying that IFC/PC Greeks don't earn their letters? The process may not be similar (in your opinion) but that doesn't mean one is harder than the other.
I'm in an IFC Fraternity and I can definitely say my pledging period wasn't a piece of cake. I earned my letters.
And on a side note, all this "we're in different councils so we have nothing in common" talk is more of a perceived thing than anything else. I've found that when I come in contact with people in different councils, they're not all that different.

When I was in school, the Black History Month chair of our African-American Student Union was a Korean member of a local NPC-style sorority. People can get along if they want to. When you make up your mind that you have nothing in common with someone else, or with an entire other group of people, then you won't.

Im a graduate of Purdue University and there seems to be positive relations between the different councils on the campus. Atleast from the outside looking in. AphiA has a diversity step show where NPHC orgs adopt an org from Pan Hel, IFC, and recently MGC orgs and teach them how to step. Purdue has also started doing GREEK WEEK where all the councils are placed on teams with members of other orgs and they must compete in random tasks in an effort to promote unity. So in pics it's wonderful. This idea to unite the greek community starting around 2006. I guess all the kinks are being worked out.
From, the inside its a different story. No one really tries to get to know each other. IFC and PanHell outnumber NPHC and MGC members by hundreds. Everyone stuck with the people they knew.Yes, everyone has the general brotherhood and sisterhood thing in common, but thats about it. It seems easier for MGC and NPHC orgs to hang out together because the process of becoming a member is similar. You had to earn your letters and everything that wearing them comes with. The IFC and PanHel process seems way different and alot of people in culturally based organizations have a hard time finding commonalities.
Yes, there is always the underlying issue of race. On my campus, every MGC and NPHC org is treated differently. Our orgs were always the first be in the paper for something negative. When the same situation happened in other councils, we never heard about it.The other councils don't have to deal with the same issues.
So, after my long rant. I have to come to the same conclusion as most of the people... yes you can coexist but hanging out all the time isnt necessary... it just leads to awkward situations.

what does your organization do to make it's pledges earn their letters?

They make 'em say their information slowly/out of sync and do the same step over and over apparently.

You're more than welcome! There are certainly other unique elements to your organization - such as the fact that you have a specific category for "Military Ladies." I wonder if you could tell us all a bit about how that came to be?

No other organization has ever had a coming out show? Interesting.
Their performance was bad and nervousness doesn't make a group of people that bad.

Here's my question - if it was a first effort, and you knew it wasn't representing your GLO well, why post it on YouTube?

1. They actually thought it was a good show (????)
2. Like a lot of young (minded) people, they thought it MUST go on youtube. They MUST be seen.
3. They lacked the sense to deduce that it should not be put up.
Sorry, that's all I got.

My grandmother trying to rap to 50 cent is pretty fun. That right there, just hurt....deep down in my soul.
