Home at last!
I just wanted to let you all know that I'm finally home. I loved my time in Nashville, but after 10 days its good to be in my own apartment. I learned a lot of wonderful things about AOII and her history. There is still plenty of work to be done but a start was made. Also, if you all ever get the chance to visit headquarters do so! It is a beautiful building and everyone that works there is wonderful!
Anyway, time to head to sleep as its been a very long week!

I don't know if I can make it to LI because I don't know where I'm going to be working, what kind of time off I can get, etc. I would love to go and will very likely start saving up for Convention next year! (I may even try and talk my Mom into going with me. . . )
I'll let you know if I am going to LI - though the paperwork needed to be in a bit ago so probably not. . .

Maybe writing about what I was working on and with last week will help me get started on the report that I have to do!
Anyway, the archives have a lot of great stuff, but need a lot of work! Basically there is a lot of stuff down there, collected over the past 105 years and none of it has really been cataloged in 1 place! We have everything ranging from reports from the individual chapters to deceased members badges, from past issues of To Dragma (going ALL the way back to issue 1!) to a copy of Stella's will. There are also a lot of letters and early documents from the founders - including the portions of ritual that we take for granted that they were getting the little kinks out of (if you will). There is the correspondence setting up what is now the Ruby Fund (started out as the Friendship Fund) and lots of scrapbooks. There are about 15 photos by Margaret Bourke-White (Omicron Pi) and in general LOTS of stuff that I didn't even get a chance to look at because there wasn't anywhere near enough time. I was able to catalog about 825 artefacts and that was just doing the books in the Board Room, artefacts in the Museum, bound issues of To Dragma in the Editor's Office, silver on the first floor, everything in the fireproof safe (badges, permanent roll books, etc) and about 4 file folders of information - out of around 520 BANKERS' BOXES full of file folders!
Anyway, gotta get going and work on that report and my schoolwork - and trying to find a job for after graduation! Keep your fingers crossed!
Alpha LOVE!!
Sarah
