If you are talking about NPHC orgs, there is nothing to be confused about. Our orgs banned auxillaries in 1990 with the exception of Iota Phi Theta, which still nationally recognizes their sweethearts. To find out more about their sweethearts, visit their website.
For the rest of the NPHC orgs, auxillaries are no longer recognized or permitted. And for the record, auxillaries (such as the ones you're referring to) never were like sororities and fraternities since they don't run their own organizations.
Now wasn't that easy? No confusion.
