We (Mu Alpha) had a service project for about three semesters or more where we made safe sex packets with condoms, lube, and information for a non-profit that handed them out to sex workers.
Our service program typically didn't require as much administrative appropval back then, but it is my understanding that since the advent of the Center for Social Justice, they are more picky (ie, they won't get funded for projects that don't directly benefit people -- no more visits to animal shelters!)
