The OP said they wanted a beach. Champions Gate has awesome courses but I know that I wouldn't be paying any attention to my date if we were there. El Campeon at Howey in the Hills is a better place to go if you want a golf resort anyway.

I have been to several events at the River City Brewing Company! It is a popular place for bid day events for many of UNF's sororities.

Also, MOSH (Museum of Science and History) is right next door, and I know it can be rented out for formals and such. My chapter actually had a formal there and it was a blast!

El Campeon is the hardest course I've played in Florida, its in the middle of nowhere though. You must have grown up way out in the sticks.
