I haven't really run into strange names, but I've run into some interesting nicknames. When our founding fathers were around in the early 90s here in Toronto we were known as the Sigma Pigs.

In an earlier post there was mention of AD as possibly ADPi. I know here and wherever else they exist, Alpha Dleta Phi is known as AD.

Also, my gf is a Theta at the university of Western Ontario and I know they call Gamma Phi Beta, Gamma Phi. I think it would get confusing with Beta (Beta Theta Pi) there.
