BabyBlue, I'm so proud of you. I swear you and Ideal keep me motivated every time I view this thread.
Well, I haven't worked out in two weeks, but I'm still losing weight. I've given up meat for a month (a fast that I'm doing with the church), and the results are crazy. The pounds are coming off and my clothes are getting looser and looser. I'm hitting the gym hard again next week.
Stay encouraged ladies! We can do it, but it takes tenacity and consistency.

bumping because...
A. It's about time to start getting fit for summer (well maybe past time).
B. Having been sick for a while, I haven't been to the gym for about 6 months, and I am now cleared by my doctor to get back into the gym and whip myself into shape.
C.I don't actually want to lose weight, just be healthy and fit- a goal that I think everybody on this thread shares (making it better than 90% of the internet- yay for no anorexics!).
D. Because this thread was always the BEST at helping motivate me, and I hope others.
How are folks doing?

Well, I am on a quest to reinvent myself, so I am about to kick my weight loss efforts back into high gear. With the help of the treadmill, the outdoor track, DVDs, and Extreme Fat Smash, I am trying to do it big (or do it small! )
It's time to REALLY lose this weight baby!

I have gotten complacent... I became very comfortable with reaching my WW lifetime goal and started drifting back to some of my old habits (sitting around too much and eating way too much fast food)...
But after gaining 8 lbs - I'm back to being focused. I want to lose 6 of the 8 lbs. that I gained and then I want to maintain. I restarted my aerobics class at the gym, I'm sticking to my WW daily point allowance, drinking H2O, and doing 160 crunches every day. I also just purchased one of those stomach belts to see if that will help to tighten the midsection...
My goal for the next month is to drop those lbs. and tone up...
Summer is fast approaching!

Yay! I'm glad this thread was bumped. I'm keeping everyone here in my thoughts so that you reach your goals! I'm doing two aerobics/cardio classes a day, 3x a week, in addition to riding my bike 10 miles a day twice a week. I've already lost an inch in my waist! I don't know my weight but I don't care about that so much as I want to tone up and lose inches in my waist/hips/bust.
I'm rooting for everyone!
** Wow GodlyAspiringDr, I need to do 160 crunches a day too!

I avoided weighing for months, but yesterday I decided to get on the scale. I'm down 16lbs. I can really tell in my clothes because they're fittinf much looser. I'm extremely happy but I have to keep it up because that weight will come right back if I let it.

That's great!!!! Congrats on the accomplishment... Now maintain, because you're right it is easy for the weight to come right back if we don't stay on top of it!

my confession...
I must confess that after my april post I have not lost any weight!!!! However, I decided that I needed to be more active. So for the last 3 weeks I've been going to the gym every day and working out for 40 minutes, in addition to doing a 10 minute warm up (160 crunches, 100 jumping jacks, 50 squats, 50 push ups). And as of this week, I cut my calorie intake so that I can drop some pounds (back into the WW counting points mode). I will weigh myself next week and I expect to see some progress (i.e., inch and pound reduction)
Stay encouraged everyone... We can do this!!!!

bumping this timely thread...
Greeting sorors and sisterfriends!
I'm so happy I found this thread. I've just embarked on a journey to change my eating habits this past week. I had been dragging with no energy and dealing with a lot emotionally, so I decided to do a week long detox at the suggestion of one of my friends.
I spent the week (or most of it) eating only fresh fruits, vegetables, water and fruit juice. I wasn't hungry at all, just craving starchy and sweet foods. By the end of the week, I felt better. Except for an episode of eating a a couple of french fries this past Saturday, I did well. Those fries were NOT worth it because I had the taste of grease in my throat for the next day.
On the first day after the detox, I decided to have a grilled chicken salad and that was not a good idea. After the first two bites of chicken breast which felt "stuck" in the back of my throat like I couldnt digest it, I tossed the rest of the chicken and finished the salad. Ever since, I'm considering making the transition to being a vegetarian. I'm not sure about being a vegan because of the high cost of finding dairy free, egg free protein sources, but I'm happy about my decision especially after I had a very delicious Jerk Tofu Wrap today for lunch(never thought I'd like tofu either).
As a side benefit, I lost 8 pounds over the week and, once I get my protein source settled after Boule, I plan to start the Body for Life program for my exercise plan.

No flour or sugar!
I've lost about 75 pounds since November and cutting out flour, sugar, and wheat (as others in this thread mentioned) was the first step for me. That's ALL flower, sugar and wheat because I am a serious addict!
In addition to the food itself, I have had to change many other aspects of my life. I plan what I'm going to eat the night before and it has to be in my refrigerator. I weigh my food so that I know my exact proportions. I cook meats and vegetables ahead of time so that I can simply 'grab and go' for lunch and sometimes dinner (I've eaten out twice in the past 8 months). I NEVER eat between meals and I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at specific times; I schedule my life around these times. In addition, I am learning to reach out to friends instead of "stuffing" my emotions and problems (which send me back to food) and I am slowly but surely cleaning up all aspects of my life by building a spiritual foundation and sloowing down so that I can hear God's voice.
Who knew it took all this to lose a few pounds? I've lost a few pounds before, but to keep it off I know it takes an entire life-change. The outside has completely changed and the inside is changing too, slowly but surely. I'm ready for more!
