Why would he serve before going to college? Probably because he is poor. That's not top tier.

And wouldn't everyone over 18 be of age to gain entrance to a bar? I've only seen once case of some one younger than that pledging.

In case you were unsure, that's not what *I* think, but what someone from a "fratty traditional Southern top tier" chapter who likes to constantly remind everyone on GC of that might say.

In some states, you have to be 21 to even get into a bar (even if you're not drinking) unless it's a TGIFriday's type of place, and even those often have rules about people who are underage (i.e. cannot be in certain areas at certain times).

There are very few places I have been that you have to be 21 to enter a bar. Certainly never been to a club you have had to be 21 to into. And very few that actually care if youre a minor walking around with alcohol as long as you didnt walk to the bar and buy it yourself.

Well, come to PA and you'll have to change your ways very fast.

He'd have to change his ways in many states.
I would never go out if I ran the risk of partying alongside people under the legal drinking age. The places I know of in various cities and states ID at the door or at the bar.
Plus, some of the places I go to restrict entrance to 25+ because they're looking for a certain type of crowd. No crazy co-eds who are happy to be able to drink legally.

Well, you do live in a silly state that doesn't allow the sale of beer in supermarkets or convenience stores and only recently allowed select liquor stores to be open on Sundays.

Where the hell are you supposed buy beer? And I thought most states had laws prohibiting the sale of alcohol over a certain percentage on sundays.

You have to go to a beer distributor or a bottle shop to buy beer.
