New to GC but I love it already
Hi all,
I'm new here. Just joined this week as an effort to expand my networking skills and contacts. I am working on meeting new people and broadening my views of the world. It's very interesting to meet new people and then find out that you have something in common with them or you can help them.
Just this past year I have met someone from my college who knows someone I went to church with back at home. They used to live right down the street from each other!
I am a mechanical engineering student in my fourth year out of five.
I like to read.
I think this site is an awesome way to meet people from all over who have a wide range of interests.
I am an big fan of environmentalism. (My Birthday is on Earth Day too!)
If you want to know anything else, feel free to ask.
Also, if anyone knows of any community service events going on in the DC area let me know. I am currently trying to get into charity walks if you know any. It's really interesting to realize that you can push yourself that far. Most people think they can't walk a mile without stopping but can push themselves to walk for an entire day. It shows you how strong you really are while helping to serve others at the same time. (Hooray for multitasking!)
