i totally agree.

did he used to wear those bandanas when he was younger? i had a thought not too long ago that maybe he always wears them (even when he's not wearing a hat) to hide that "wig line"?

I remember seeing a picture....ooo, I found it on the website here link. He has bangs and this layered thing going on. It's totally pushed forward too. I can imagine if he moved too much or his hair wasn't styled and coiffed it would show his receding hairline.

The reason I say that is because usually Greeks tend to make the system look BAD on reality shows but, Jessica seems to be very nice and quiet. She is not a backstabber or mean to anyone. Trista didn't slut it up on TV so, I can see why AXO is proud to call her a sister. Phi Mu has had some Reality Stars like Sarah Stone (the winner of) "The Bachelor" season 8 and MTV's "Two-A-Days" Kristin Boyle. In fact, it seems as though many of the NPCs are proud of their "Reality Stars" such as:

AXO-Sarah Jones (Survivor 4) and Aubrey O'Day (Making the Band)
ADPi-Ellen Cho (Road Rules 10)
AEPhi- Colie (Real World 18-Denver)
AGD- Amber Birkich (Survivor 2) and Meredith Phillips (The Bachelor)
APhi-Eliza Orlins (Survivor 9)
AXiD-Jen Schefft (The Bachelorette)
ChiO- Trishelle (Real World 12) and Brooke (Real World 18)
DG- Holly Shand (Road Rules 7)
DPhiE- Parisa (Real World 19)
GPhiB- Johana (Real World 16-still listed even though she terminated memb.)
PiPhi- Kelley (Real World 9)
TriSig-Suzie (The Bachelor)
ZTA- Jenna Morasca (Survivor 6), Kirsten Buschbacher (The Bachelor), and Keri Evans (Real World 11)

Keep in mind this list DOES NOT include members of fraternities (which they have some reality stars listed, as well). So, before you assume that I'm trying to talk up my org. please recognize that I wasn't even speaking up on behalf of my org-it was for Kappa. I think it's great to see people from Greek Orgs. on Tv if they conduct themselves in a respectable manner. I have tons of Greek pride in ALL the Greek organizations. In fact, my cousin is a DPhiE and I was excited to learn that one of my friends from H.S. is a Zeta-even if it's not my sorority-it's great to hear people getting involved...that's all....
Look, little girl, you can take your Wikipedia/Greek101 list 'o Reality Greeks and shove it up your ass.

First of all, I'm well aware that several GLOs do recognize their reality show members. I specifically asked about REALITY DATING SHOWS.

Second, just because a reality star is a member doesn't necessarily mean the HQ will officially recognize them on their website or official publication. Show me where AGD IHQ proudly calls Meredith Phillips an 'Accomplished Alum.' Oh wait, you can't...because apparently she wasn't in good standing when she left Oregon State. And I recall a discussion here years ago about Trishelle and Chi Omega. Show me where her name is on the Outstanding Chi Omegas list. That's right...YOU CAN'T!

I like to think that HQs are quite selective when it comes to lists of notable/accomplished/distinguished alumnae. Again, with the exception of AXO and Trista, somehow I don't think reality show contestant/winner is a resume boost to get you there, let alone someone who appears on a dating show pining over a man who sucks face with 19 other women.

I'd be quicker to recognize a member who does things for the community, a member who introduces legislation to make this a safer place, and a member who inspires honesty and acts of selflessness than a reality TV "star" any day.

Yeah, I've been biting my tongue on this subject since the first post. But seriously, Trishelle and Brooke as outstanding alumnae? I have to agree with OTW. I don't know that hooking up on t.v. qualifies a person as outstanding. Embarrassing is a more appropriate description.

Let me say that Gamma Phi Beta issued a statement because Johanna from Real World was NOT a member when she was on the show and thus NOT entitled to wear our letters. She had resigned/disaffiliated before the show. So - not a Gamma Phi.

As far as in good standing-that wasn't my point. If you go on Greek101 (the lounge) where people of their own orgs. (I assume-since I have never posted anyone from my org. on there) can put things up about who is who in their org. you will see some of these names mentioned. Granted some names are mentioned more than once or even some random (WTH were they thinking) names are posted-but, that is not by me!
You call me out for being rude and now you're playing the victim? First of all, my slam was directed to Jessica, not KKG. Why you feel the need to defend reality TV Greeks is beyond me. Grow a thicker skin.

You rely on Greek101/Wikipedia. Here's a thought: did you ever think that these lists are incorrect? These lists are generated by members, I know, but some of these members don't know their own shit. I once saw that Carly Simon and Madonna are AGDs. Betty Crocker and Betty White are proud members of SEVERAL different NPCs. If it's not on the HQ website, I won't even consider it. Maybe you should get a clue. Your Greek101 list of shit belongs either a) up your ass or b) in the trash.

I agree 100% that there are women and men who do so much more for their org. than go on national tv and claim to be in love with some bachelor (or bachelorette) and that people who actually GIVE BACK to their community should be recognized. I never stated they shouldn't. I do agree we need to show more pride in THOSE people than reality tv stars.

As far as getting so upset about it-I don't even know why you have the right to tell me to shove something up my ass. I was trying to join in the thread and talk about ROL, which made me think about the women on the show. I later found out Jessica was a Kappa and found it to be interesting. I have to admit-when I find out someone is Greek-I tend to watch them more (and usually pull for them the most) because I do believe in Panhellenic unity.

So, before you begin bashing me for joining in on a conversation and interjecting with some random banter (which it was-it wasn't to start an argument-it was to add something to the conversation-nothing more) consider that not everyone has alterior motives the way you may think they do. If I'm going to get bashed for "joining in" the conversation-I don't really see the need to post...and after this-I'm sure some other "lurkers" will feel the same.
Then don't post. It ain't rocket science. And I'm sure other GCers will feel the same.

I didn't mean I was done with Greek Chat-I meant I was done arguing with someone I don't know-especially over something stupid...I def. shouldn't call anyone names because they could very well be nice people but, I don't appreciate getting yelled at over this...when I made the comment about Kappas being nice-I was clarifying I don't dislike anyone-I wasn't implying she said anything negative about anyone-so, that was a misunderstanding. I don't know how bringing up what I found online about members of diff. orgs. got someone so upset with me because I was not trying to disrespect anyone or any GLO-I was just saying what I found. No need to be upset with me over that...

I clicked the link in OtterXO's post to check out Bret's hair. It looks like he got his lips botoxed and stuffed a sock in his jeans, too. ewww
