The Pike house was across the street from ours (and the Phi Mu house was next to the Pike House). Well, the Pikes didn't want to pay a cable bill, so they had run a cable from their house to the Phi Mu house. I guess it had been there for several years before it was discovered. Anyway, once it was discovered the Phi Mu's corporation board refused to let the Pike's continue to steal their cable, so in the middle of the night, a bunch of Pikes decided to run a cable across the street to our house. Since it had to go across the street, it had to be elivated, so it was pretty funny to see these guys try and string the cable (and yes, dangerous, but we were college kids and invinceable). I assume it has since been discovered, but I remember going back to Athens in 1999 and the fat black cable (that didn't look too professional) was still strung across the street.

One that I wasn't part of but I always thought was inapropriate but funny-- we have a song "It Only Takes A Spark"- well during retreat they did a fake pinning circle only instead of passing a candle they passed a condom that was blown up like a balloon and sang "It Only Takes One Sperm" and then someone popped the condom with a pin.

The Theta Chis stole our kitchen clock. This is funnier now than it was at the time.

We heard thru the Greek phone-grapevine that the cops were coming to fine anyone who had "property of this or that dairy" orange crates and hitting all the sorority houses, so we took all our books out of them and hid the crates in the outside storage area of our house we never knew we had until then. Again, this is funnier now than it was at the time.

banditone, I have this image of the drunk active . . .still up there.

And somehow this is becoming the "interesting things fraternity men have stolen from your sorority house" thread!

SWTX, don't you worry about him. I saw him at this past years homecoming. He got down fine - and is a lawyer now. Never woulda guessed it.

- More stealing: I remember sitting on top of the house drinking and looking out over the football practice field at night, and seeing the silhouette of the giant letters "Pi", then a "Kappa", and finally the "Alpha" going across the far end of the field. Our pledges had stolen the Pike letters (they were HUGE) and took them over to sorority row and put them in the street.
