Police Say Family Schemed to Dump Baby

Geez. Why couldn't the family just take the baby to a fire station themselves? Isn't there a no-questions asked law or something that is out there to prevent people from trying to do harm to the baby (like put it in a dumpster or something?)

Yes there is but IIRC the baby was now to old for the law.
