Did Janet not learn from her last CD?

Yay for Erykah!! I love the video for Honey.

Erykah's CD is brilliantly bizarre, but I really like it. Definitely not what I expected after hearing "Honey". Radio is NOT ready for this one!!! 9 1/2 out of 10

I'm very disappointed in Janet's CD. It was so painful to listen to. You would think that with all the various songwriters on the CD, it would sound better than this. The title track is very disturbing; I read somewhere that Ne-Yo cowrote it, which makes it even more disturbing. 6 out of 10

Cheri Dennis' CD came out today (FINALLY!!!) and it's actually not that bad. I'm mad at Diddy for waiting so long to release the CD, then dropping it the same day as Erykah and Janet. Not good!!! 8 out of 10

Thanks for the commentary. Radio hasn't been rEADY for Badu since Momma's Gun. They definately were not ready for Worldwide UG. I am so ready to hit Best Buy this evening...it isn't even funny.

Is she the same Algebra from a couple of years ago? I have some of her songs uploaded, but it didn't say Blessett. Is she a neo artist? If so, that's the same person, probably.

It's the same Algebra. I have a song uploaded from last year, but I was looking for a whole album. I'll have to pick that one up, too.

Badu's album is kinda wacky in some parts, but overall, it's HOT! So far, my faves are "Me," "Master Teacher," "That Hump," "Telephone," and "Honey." By the end of the day, I'll love them all, I'm sure! I've heard some good things on other songs as well, but since I'm listening while studying, I couldn't concentrate. However, the above songs stuck in my head.

DEFINITELY worth the wait and the money!

I agree, and I was surprised that "Honey" was included as a "Bonus Track." It's not even listed on the tracking listing.

Also, Lenny Kravitz came out.

I forgot to pick up or look for Algebra.

I did get Badu and Kravitz.
I think she can get at least 3 of the songs on the radio. Many artists like her, they don't get much play, but they have a large following.

Master Teacher sounds like something Bilal would do.

I REALLY like this! It's different...like her! IMO it picks up where Wwu left off.

I'll get to LK in a week or 2. I'm sure it's good!

ETA: I heard Mariah's latest single. It sounds like something that would have appeared on Emancipation of MiMi. That's a good sign.

I hope she makes an appearance at our class reunion in May. That would be a REAL treat! She started her last tour at GSU...anything is possible! :crossing fingers:

I'm thinking I will ask for CDs for my 23rd birthday (2.28.08). One of my best friends wants to get me something. Algebra, Ledisi's first album, and the new Erykah seem like a good deal to me. I might even add Estelle, Eric Roberson and Rahsaan Patterson to the mix.

My best friends are getting me tickets to Bilal (3.8.08) and Raheem Devaughn (3.10.08)!!!! Another friend is getting us tickets to Mos Def (3.30.08). Hopefully Bilal and Raheem don't sell out before purchases are made. February has already been a great music month, thanks to the AMAZING Ledisi and Chrisette Michele shows I attended.

I'll have to buy those CDs as a t-day gift, but I won't mind at all. LOL

Soror RD, get to NYC and I'm telling you... it's on for a concert. Pinky promise!
