It's a figure of speech used to highlight the fact that marijuana in Austin, Texas is tolerated to such a high extent that it would appear to be practically legal. That is not a hard concept to understand. You can stop telling me that there is no such thing. Seriously.

......and what exactly is my "type", dick? Please, please go down the road I think your heading towards. I'd love to here it. I don't walk around town thinking that I am above the law or that drug use in this town is perfectly legal. I never once stated that.

White and not of the lower socioeconomic strata, college educated, probably doesn't spend a substantial amount of time in certain neighborhoods, and would probably not need a public defender if you were arrested. DUH.

ETA: Change "white" to "black" and I also fit that description. My knowledge of crime and arrest data is not because I fit the general description of the "types" of people who are targeted and arrested for drug offenses.

Thanks for the explanation. The way you phrased that and put quotes around "type" made it seem like you meant that in quite a more negative way.

I think DST was a little unnerved by your (seemingly) cavalier attitude towards the pot brownies.
Handing out stuff like that to people who don't know any better is one of the most disgusting things I've heard of in a while. I hope that group gets a deserving punishment.

I can think of quite a few more things that are more "disgusting" than feeding people some pot. Like, for instance, this guy in my hometown that murdered his girlfriend and then ate her. That is one of the most disgusting things I've heard of in a while, in the sense that it was not only gross but incredibly heinous. The act was very stupid and childish, and they should be punished......absolutely. Not disputing that.

If I appeared to have a cavalier attitude towards weed then, sorry, I guess. The overly sensationalized garbage that gets put out about marijuana and how "horrible" and "dangerous" it is irritates me.

As far as drinking underage...I can't really say that it appears that way to me. Illegalities that go along with drinking down here are more heavily enforced in my experience. In other words, you are probably more prone to getting an MIP or a PI than you are a possession ticket.

hee hee I don't know, an argument could be made to say marijuana is "PRACTICALLY legal" in my zip code when the city council passes a resolution to not prosecute for personal possession. yep freedom to smoke out on my front porch. lol
