I see you've posted this in several places to several different fraternities.

Since your chapter isn't a colony, I'm sure my reasons were different than yours would be. I never went through rush.

As far as ensuring you a bid? There is nothing that will ensure you a bid. You're just going to have to go through recruitment like everyone else. You'll get a bid if the chapter thinks you deserve one. Best of luck.
